What Is It About?

Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story helps to answer the question “What do Christians believe?” and helps Christians answer the question “What do I really believe?”

In a culture which is quickly disposing of labels and classifications, it is becoming harder to understand what it means to be a Christian.
In Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story, we learn
  • Everyone has a worldview, a set of beliefs which affect their thoughts and actions;
  • What we believe about God, the world, and our role in it is very important;
  • But not all Christians share the same worldview.

To build a consistent, comprehensive, and Christian worldview, we can
  • Understand the larger story of which we are a part;
  • Consider the setting of the story, the major characters making things happen, the goal of the story, and the obstacles and opposition between us and the goal;
  • Examine our beliefs about the beginning, middle, and end of the story to see if they make a consistent whole;
  • Then join God in the work he is doing in the world.

     End Notes
Story, at its heart, is one of the primary modes in which God speaks to us, which means its one of the main vehicles for God's truth.... Our faith is formed not just by propositional truths but also by the narratives of Scripture, the tales of Christian history, the great works of fiction, and other art forms."

The Take-Away: Why This Book?

Worldview has become a hot topic in the past decade or two. Christian schools often offer a class in worldview, with some colleges even offering it as major. There are youth camps dedicated to the topic as well as a handful of Bible studies for adults. So, why offer a new book on worldviews now? Keep reading here.
Definition of Terms
In Finding Your Part in God’s Master Story: An Exploration of Christian Worldviews, I hope to help my readers understand some different beliefs Christians have about how our world started, what went wrong, what God is doing to fix it, and how we can help God reach his goal. While exploring external Christian worldviews, each reader is asked questions to help them understand their own internal worldview and to ensure that their personal beliefs are consistent, comprehensive, and truly Christian. What do I mean by the terms Christian and worldview? Find out more here.
